New Adventurers Walking Group in 2026

Where we have been and are planning to visit

18th Feb 2026 Despite the forecast we crossed the bridge and ventured to Crombie Country Park where we had a pleasant walk through the forest before adjourning to Milton Haugh Farm shop cafe for some warm soup, coffee etc.

04th Mar 2026 Sandy entrusted Ian and Jim in his absence to organise a walk to the Kingsbarn's shoreline and through the Cambo snowdrops before lunch in the cafe.

18th Mar 2026 was a closer home stroll along the McGonagall Way in Riverside and around the Magdalengreen area including where Dundee's famous Poet has a street named after him before popping into the V&A cafe!

29th April We got our passports out and headed into the edge of the Angus Glens to Kinnordy Loch nature reserve. This was inspired by a recent talk on the features of the area. The lunch venue was Lochlands on the outskirts of Forfar.

13th May 2026 The Probus Adventurers drove out to Errol and then we walked through the Errol Park estate down to Port Allen on the edge of the Tay and along the edge of the reed beds and a circular path back to the village before driving to the winery at Cairn O'Mohr's cafe, with the strange name of the Pickled Peacock for lunch.

27th May 2026  An outing a bit further afield than our usual Fife or Tayside walks this time to our capital city of Edinburgh to start our first phase of the Water of Leith path. The route was organised by our Edinburgh member Nigel Clark. Although the path starts in Balerno and travels about 8 miles down to Leith and the river Forth, we started our walk close to Haymarket Station and walked through Dean Village and ended in Stockbridge finishing in Hector's Bar for lunch. The path was surprisingly busy with tourists and we had various photo stops on route including at the Anthony Gormley statue which stands in the middle of the river. A great day out due to Nigel and Sandy!

10th June 2026 The rain stayed off long enough to allow a stroll around Forfar Loch, along it's recently refurbished path and bridges finishing up in the Dunnichen Stone Pub for lunch.

24th June 2026 Who know's where we will venture! Just watch out for details!
