We meet at 10.15am every second Wednesday at Drumoig Hotel, Forgan, Newport-on-Tay for a coffee and talk by guest speakers.

Alternative Wednesday's the walking group meet at 9.30am in the carpark at Waterston Crook, Newport-on-Tay to find out where we are heading and where lunch is to be held!

Commonwealth War Graves Commission

The first speaker of our 2026 season is Cyrus Goodger, who will give members an insight into the work done by the Commission. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission is a global leader in commemoration. They have 23,000 locations in 150 countries, managing and caring for memorials, cemeteries and headstones, some of which are over a century old. Something that may escape individuals attention is how the CWGC is probably the largest horticultural operation worldwide encompassing all of the worlds ecosystems and climates each with their unique challenges. So make sure you attend this event to learn more!

Our other big gathering is our Burn's lunch on the 21st January 2026! We always welcome any Bard aficionados so if you want to volunteer just let one of the Committee know!

The following meeting is on the 11th February when the speaker will be Alan Davidson on A Scottish Murder.

Members have the chance to select a new Committee on the 25th February at the Annual General Meeting so make sure this date is entered in your diaries!

 

PROBUS: The name is an abbreviation of the words PROfessional and BUSiness. Membership is open to retired or semi - retired individual and aged over 55 years. 

Members from all walks of life would be entertained by a variety of invited guest speakers and social events and outings, with the emphasis being on camaraderie and friendship for all.  New members are always welcome and if you are interested, contact the Secretary using the contact form.)  Probus is non political and non sectarian.
